Improve early literacy through mindful movement by participating in a yoga demonstration. Learn how to tell a story or read a picture book using basic yoga moves. Engage your students by immersing them in an Eric Carle, David Shannon or Brenda Guiberson book in a new and meaningful way. Not only will you help your students improve body awareness, flexibility, strength and coordination, but you will help strengthen focus and concentration muscles as well as provide a sense of calm. Come experience calming and energizing breaths and participate in a guided meditation. After this session, encourage preschoolers through second graders to stretch their imagination and make up poses.
